Discussion followed as to the fact that there were four <br />or five people present who came to speak at today's hearing, <br />and Attorney Brandenburg suggested that if the Board desired <br />to reschedule, a time should be specified now so that the <br />individuals present would be aware of it. <br />Planner Ragsdale suggested a date of July 21st when <br />there are several other rezoning hearings scheduled, <br />including one in the same neighborhood. <br />Commissioner Lyons asked those present if they could be <br />present at a July 21st hearing, and four indicated they <br />could be. <br />MOTION was made by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner WQdtke, to reschedule the <br />subject public hearing for July 21st with <br />notification to be handled by staff and the <br />cost to be borne by Mr. Childers. <br />Vice Chairman Fletcher stated that he planned to vote <br />against the Motion because the people present were duly <br />notified and appeared to speak, and he believed the priority <br />is to follow the procedures advertised. <br />Commissioner Bird pointed out that four out of the five <br />present have indicated they can come back on July 21st, but <br />Commissioner Lyons emphasized that these people have made <br />the effort to be here today. Mr. Childers also knew that <br />the public hearing was scheduled today, and he could have <br />been represented. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. It was <br />voted on with Commissioners Bird and Wodtke <br />voting Aye and Commissioner Lyons and Vice <br />Chairman Fletcher voting Naye.
