acreage for commercial uses, and staff is requesting that <br />the Board consider increasing the present Hospital node by <br />40 acres to a total of 90. He noted that this node is <br />geared towards hospital related activities and would also <br />have the flexibility of general -retail commercial. <br />Considerable discussion followed on the "lost" node, <br />and Commissioner Fletcher pointed out that owners in the <br />Sebastian node have the right to request this Commission to <br />relinquish their two year zoning control; however, at this <br />time no one has a site plan. <br />Chairman Scurlock felt our purpose is to confine these <br />nodes to specific areas rather than stretch them out and <br />that we should be careful about expanding them until there <br />is a demonstrated need. <br />f <br />Mr. Challacombe commented that there is a demand <br />pressure for other than just hospital related activities as <br />demonstrated by requests previously presented and some still <br />to be presented concerning properties in proximity to this <br />node. He emphasized that this is a 20 year plan, and that <br />the north Sebastian node actually is in limbo. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Fletcher, that the 50 acre <br />Roseland Hospital/Commercial Node re- <br />main the same. <br />Commissioner Wodtke commented that the tapes of the <br />July 13th hearing, which he was unable to attend, indicate <br />that the Board apparently advised two applicants with <br />apkoximately 4h acres of property that they could come into <br />the Hospital node and stated that another case would <br />probably be a neighborhood node type of situation, if a need <br />was demonstrated. Since over 36 acres of this node are <br />already developed, he believed it is obvious that there will <br />6 Box 50PACE 6 LP <br />JUI. 2 7 198 <br />
