DER REDISTRICTING,- CONTINUED <br />Representative Patchett came before the Board after <br />conferring with Mr. Senkevich and Mr. Dukes and stated that <br />there was a philosophical problem, but they were willing to <br />try the new procedure. <br />Mr. Senkevich then asked for a chance for them to work <br />this out for a few months, and if the situation was not <br />acceptable to the County, they could inform the DER. <br />Air. Dukes explained that the Governor issued an <br />executive order for their offices to cut back 15% on <br />interstate travel. He also stated that they were short of <br />staff, even when fully manned. <br />After a brief discussion, Commissioner Lyons suggested <br />this new procedure be given a try. <br />Representative Patchett suggested.that Mr. Dukes have <br />his staff become acquainted with the County personnel in <br />order to establish a good working relationship. <br />Ann Robinson, interested citizen, stated she had <br />enjoyed working with Mr. Senkevich in the past. She <br />suggested sending Miss Tschinkel, of the DER, a copy of a <br />resolution outlining the fact that the County had <br />reservations in this matter and was not accepting'this <br />change whole-heartedly. <br />After some discussion, it.was determined that a letter, <br />instead of a resolution, would suffice. <br />ON MOTION MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Fletcher, the Board unanimously <br />authorized the Chairman to send a letter to Miss <br />Tschinkel outlining the Board's position in this <br />matter. <br />� AUG 181982 <br />AM <br />�x 51 PAGE." <br />si -.d <br />
