(21) Driveway restoration <br />(22) All permitting <br />(23) Design access points into school. <br />(24) Design School "drop-off" <br />(25.)- Design/operations changes in Traffic <br />Improvement Plan must be approved by Public <br />Works Director prior to Engineer action. <br />D. Construction Phase <br />(1) The Engineer will check and approve any <br />necessary shop and working drawings furnished by contractors. <br />(2) Engineer will interpret the intent of the draw- <br />ings and specifications to protect the County against defects and <br />deficiencies in construction on the part of contractors. The <br />Engineer, however, shall not guarantee the performance of work by <br />any contractor. <br />(3) The Engineer will provide a horizontal and <br />vertical control in the form of bench mark circuit for vertical <br />control and two base lines to be used by the contractor in staking <br />the construction. <br />(4) The Engineer shall provide a full time on-site <br />resident project representative who will provide inspection of the <br />construction of the project. The resident project representative <br />shall be an agent of the Engineer and shall act by and under the <br />supervision of the Engineer. The Engineer shall provide all <br />necessary engineering supervision for the on-site representative. <br />The on-site project representative shall be chosen by mutual <br />agreement between the County and Engineer. The project represen- <br />tative shall perform as a minimum the following services; <br />(a) Review contractor's progress schedule and shop <br />drawings. Attend pre -construction conferences <br />and meetings and serve as Engineer's liaison <br />with contractors. <br />(b) Conduct on-site observations of the work in <br />progress by contractors to determine that the <br />project is proceeding in accordance with the <br />Contract Agreement between Contractor and <br />County, and that completed work will conform to <br />said Contract Agreement, and report to County <br />whenever any work is unsatisfactory or does not <br />conform to Contractor's obligations pursuant to <br />the agreement and shall report any time that it <br />appears a Contractor is not on schedule and <br />capable of completing the project within the <br />time allotted pursuant to the contract <br />AUG 18 1982 -9- sic 51, FACE 41. <br />
