PURCHASING DEFINITIONS <br />2.0 PURCHAAASING DEFINITIONS <br />Numerous terms are used in the procurement of goods <br />and/or services. Listed below are definitions of some <br />of the more commonly used terms and phrases: <br />1. ADDENDA - are written or issued prior to execution <br />of a contract which modifies the bidding document <br />by additions, deletions, clarifications or <br />corrections. <br />i. AGENCY - Administrative Division of Government -with <br />specific functions. <br />3. AN ALTERNATE BID - is an amount stated in the bid <br />to be added -to or- deducted from the amount of -the <br />base hid of tha cnrrspondin -change in th6goods <br />or services, as described in the bidding documents. <br />4. <br />APPROVAL - means the process of Board of County <br />Commission authorization--of-an action prior -to tem <br />execution. <br />5. ADMINISTRATOR - means the County Administrator, who <br />is the head of the Administrative Branch of County <br />Government or his designee. <br />6—. -AMENDMENT me od of subs an ially changing <br />the terms and conditions or requirements of a <br />contract beyond what is specifically allowed by the <br />contract. <br />7. —A -BASE BI -D- is the sum stated -in --the bid for-whie <br />the bidder offers to provide the goods or services <br />described in bidding documents as the base to which <br />goods or services may be added or deleted for sums <br />stated in alternate bids. <br />8. A BID - is a complete and properly signed proposal <br />to provide goods or services or designated portion <br />thereof for sums stated therein, submitted in <br />accordance with the bidding documents. <br />9. AAAAA-KD- BOND—is a surety bond which * emnifies tine <br />County in the event the bidder awarded the contract <br />does not execute the contract documents, furnish <br />any required performance bond, and proceed with the <br />performance. The bid bond, when required, is given <br />to the Countyatthe-time of bid submission. <br />10.
