The Facility, upon approval of payment by the Indian River County <br />Board of County Commissioners, will be reimbursed at the Medicaid per diem <br />rate prevailing at the time the services were rendered. This level of <br />reimbursement will not include fees for physician's services. <br />16. This Procedure for Reimbursement for Provision of Hospital Care <br />to Resident Indigent Patients is promulgated-by_l-adian-River County for <br />the use of the Indian River County Welfare Department in its relations with <br />Facilities as defined herein. This procedure is not .intended to be a bind- <br />ing agreement or undertaking by the Indian River County. The County does <br />not warrant that a Facility will receive reimbursement upon compliance with <br />this procedure and Facility as defined herein for provision of medical care <br />to resident indigent patients. The Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners only intends to set out the respective steps to be followed <br />by a Facility as defined herein to apply for reimbursement. The Indian <br />River County Welfare Department does not by virtue of this procedure obligate <br />itself to reimburse any Facility for the provision of'medical services to <br />resident indigent.patients. <br />Attorney Brandenburg informed the Board that he has <br />reviewed this document and it is satisfactory. -It is meant <br />to set up a uniform policy that the hospitals can use to <br />determine when and when not to expect reimbursement from the <br />county. <br />Miss Lindsey noted that we never have had written <br />guidelines, only oral agreements with the hospitals, and <br />Commissioner Lyons felt this is a great step forward. <br />� OCT 61982. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, to adopt the Procedures <br />73 <br />um - .51 Po'E`606, <br />
