Doug <br />Public Works Director Scurlock dated Nov. 1, 1982 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />As directed by the Board of County Commissioners eturing <br />their regularly scheduled meeting of March 3, 1982, Lloyd <br />and Associates, on behalf of the St. Edwards Upper School, <br />has designed and received bids on constructing left turn and <br />deceleration lanes along A -1-A in the vicinity of the St. <br />Edwards Upper School. The cost of improvement is $40,998.94. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />As recommended in March, 1982, since A -1-A is a State <br />D.O.T. Road and since the School is a Private School, the <br />County could take the position that County funds should not <br />be expended for this project. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Past County policy on publicly dedicated, County ILtaig _ ; <br />tained roads involves the County funding 25% of the improve- <br />ments while the benefiting owners fund the remaining 75%, <br />For informational purposes only, the Town of Indian Ri•vei <br />Shores is currently investigating three (3) laning A-1-3 along <br />a one (1) mile length. Funding shall he by developers a-1 <br />the as.aa. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS A14D FUNDING <br />Xf the County desires to participate in this project <br />Alternative No. 2 is recommended whereby the County would <br />fund 25% of the cost for a total of approximately $10,250. <br />Funding to be from Road and Bridge Materials Account. <br />Dale Sorensen, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. <br />Edwards School, noted that he came before the Commission <br />many months ago re assistance for obtaining a turning lane <br />and traffic control.
