engineering now has been done and a permit obtained; they <br />have gone through a formal bidding process, and are back <br />once more to ask for assistance. <br />Discussion followed on the staff recommendation that <br />the County fund 25% of the cost of the improvement, or about <br />$10,250, which is our usual policy with petition paving. <br />Some alternatives were brought up, but it was generally <br />agreed that we would run into trouble by proposing more than <br />we would in a normal situation, especially since we already <br />are stretching a point to participate in this on a State <br />road. <br />Mr. Sorensen asked about the possibility of <br />participation by adjoining land owners, and Public Works <br />Director Davis reported that there are no existing <br />developments in that area which could share the load at this <br />time, though something might develop in the future. <br />Commissioner Lyons did not see how we could set up an <br />assessment roll on this type of situation, and the Chairman <br />felt there is also the question of setting a precedent we <br />can't live with in the future. <br />Mr. Sorensen felt, in light of what has been said, that <br />for the school to ask the Commission to do otherwise than is <br />now proposed would be somewhat unfair, but he did ask that <br />they move ahead as been discussed. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Fletcher, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, to accept <br />Alternative No. 2 of staff memo dated Novem- <br />ber 9, 1982, with the understanding we will <br />ask the state for participation. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked if we could include in the <br />Motion that we would assist the school in any possible <br />74 <br />NOV 17 1982 <br />WOK P�uE <br />
