the Building Code Adjustment Board, and this person would <br />not necessarily be a technical person. <br />Commission Lyons concurred with the idea of a <br />representative of the Board of Adjustment, but did not feel <br />we should specify the Chairman as that Board might have <br />someone they feel would bemorequalified than another. <br />Commissioner Scurlock agreed to include in his Motion <br />that one of the members would be a representative of the <br />Board of Adjustment. <br />Discussion continued re the fact that this actually is <br />a legislative board which makes rulings, and for that type <br />of Code interpretation, professional people would be better <br />qualified. <br />Chairman Bird requested that the Motion be repeated. <br />Motion was restated as follows: <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Fletcher, the Board unanimously <br />adopted Ordinance 83-1, increasing the number <br />of members on the Board to seven; officially <br />changing the name of the Board to the Building <br />Code Board of Adjustments and Appeals; eliminating <br />the word "extensive;" and specifying the make-up <br />of the Board to consist of an architect, an <br />engineer, a general contractor, and four members <br />with experience in the building industry, one <br />of said `members to be a representative of the <br />Board of Zoning Adjustments. <br />14 <br />
