if all this energy could be expended on patient care and <br />treatment and stated that he would like to have a Resolution <br />suggesting disbanding the District Board entirely. <br />Mr. Ashcraft felt the issue of disbandment of the <br />District Boards is likely to resurface in Tallahassee, and <br />it was his opinion such disbandment would be a substantial <br />improvement. <br />Commissioner Wodtke commented that the cap originally <br />created for a budget for operation of the District Board was <br />$200,000 and he believed that it is considerably over that <br />figure now for Palm Beach County alone and this money could <br />be much better used for treatment of patients. <br />Discussion continued in regard to possible disbandment <br />of the district boards, and Commissioner Scurlock stated <br />that he would add to his Motion authorization for Attorney <br />Brandenburg to attend the joint meeting of the attorneys of <br />the countys involved and also work with Mr. Ashcraft to draw <br />up an appropriate resolution to be brought back to the <br />Board. Commissioner Lyons agreed to the addition. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION, including <br />the above addition. It was voted on and carried <br />unanimously. <br />CONTINUATION - BID #160 HUD <br />Ed Regan, Executive Director of the Housing Authority, <br />was present, and was asked whether it was required that the <br />Housing Authority come to the Commission for approval on <br />these bids. <br />Mr. Regan explained that the control arrangement on <br />Section 8 Rental'Assistance is between the County and HUD so <br />that any interaction re funds has to receive Board approval. <br />He continued that HUD has authorized a budget for an <br />additional 64 units of rental assistance, which results in <br />37 <br />J 5 1.983 x :. �E 51 7 <br />
