JAN 19 1983 <br />He reported that they included a figure of $192,000 in their <br />budget for this item based on phone calls made at that time, and <br />he believed we are getting a good price due to the state of the <br />economy. Mr. Davis informed the Board that this will replace the <br />present dragline which is a similar size and is used in our <br />bridge program. <br />Commissioner Fletcher confirmed that most manufacturers <br />now are going to hydraulic cranes and have gotten away from the <br />smaller size. He recommended that we do not buy the weighload <br />system as, upon doing some research, he has determined that end <br />line pneumatic gauges on the air control. will give the same <br />results. He further suggested that we make sure this is a three <br />line machine. <br />Albert Van Auken•, Road & Bridge Superintendent, concurred <br />with Commissioner Fletcher's recommendation. <br />Discussion followed on the need for the 3/4 yard bucket, and <br />it was generally agreed there is a need for this size bucket, <br />which can be used on another dragline. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Fletcher, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously <br />awarded Bid #153 for one truck -mounted 20 ton <br />Little Giant crane/dragline with 3/4 yd. dragline <br />bucket, to H. F. Mason Equipment Corp., in the <br />amount of $149,85.1.00, deleting the weighload <br />system and requesting the manufacturer to install <br />end line gauges as discussed at no additional cost, <br />and with the assurance this is a three line machine. <br />BID #154 - FLATBED DUMP TRUCK <br />The Board reviewed the following recommendation: <br />40 <br />
