It is <br />my opinion that the purchase of the adjoining forty (40) acres'to the Landfill <br />is necessary in order to give the Landfill a life equal to that which was originally <br />projected. <br />Also, there are some new requirements that I believe are forth coming from the <br />Department of Environmental Regulation pertaining to the allowable height, treatment. <br />of leachate, construction of leachate collection facilities and handling of sewage <br />waste which will require additional needed acreage. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />I.recommend strongly the purchase of this property at a price acceptable to the <br />Commission. <br />FUNDING <br />Funding is to come from the renewal and replacement account. <br />54 <br />MAR 1983 12res 0 <br />
