ORDINANCE 2012-019 <br />Number of Drive -In <br />Windows or Bays <br />Queue Distance <br />2 <br />8 vehicles/160 ft. <br />3 <br />10 vehicles/200 ft. <br />4 <br />13 vehicles/260 ft. <br />5 <br />16 vehicles/320 ft. <br />6 <br />19 vehicles/380 ft. <br />These standards may be reduced or modified by the eenununi:ty development Public <br />Works Ddirector or his designee upon showing of good cause. <br />The minimum allowable width of a driving aisle serving a drive -up window, (e.g. <br />bank, restaurant, etc.) shall be nine (9) feet. No curb, machine, equipment or other <br />protuberance shall encroach this nine -foot wide space. <br />(c) Commercial sites having fifty thousand (50,000) square feet of gross floor area or <br />more shall provide for an exclusive access drive at the primary entrance of the <br />development and all points of ingress and egress located on a collector or arterial <br />roadway, not including service entrances. Said drive(s) shall be used for providing <br />access to all parking aisles and shall not contain parking spaces; also, parking <br />space(s) shall not directly access onto such exclusive access drive(s). <br />(d) Provisions for vehicular and bicycle/pedestrian circulation between adjacent <br />parcels and development sites on—aAerial r-eads shall be provided through <br />coordinated or joint parking and sidewalk systems, or shared driveways and <br />roadways. interconnections and driveway or sidewalk stub -outs, or other <br />methods as approved by the public works director or his designee. <br />1 Access control for security. An interconnection between sites may be <br />gated or otherwise controlled for security purposes, as approved by the <br />public works director or his designee. For example, an interconnecting <br />driveway between two retail businesses may be approved to be gated <br />during non -business hours and open during business hours. <br />2 Traffic calming To prevent or mitigate the effects of cut -through traffic, <br />or to prevent speeding, traffic calming measures may be applied to an <br />interconnection, shared driveway, or roadway, and may be required by <br />the public works director or his designee. The design and construction <br />of traffic calming measures shall be subiect to approval of the public <br />works director or his designee.
