That would be the <br />next step if the contract is approved, and they are in a <br />search procedure on that now. <br />Attorney Brandenburg advised that in the matter of <br />release of easement, we need to identify what needs to be <br />released and provision made for it in the sales and <br />agreement policy. Attorney McDonough said that would be one <br />way to approach it. He also would like to address it in the <br />deed, but would be more than glad to add that to the <br />contract. Attorney Brandenburg noted that we need the <br />Humane Society to tell us what is needed, and Attorney <br />McDonough stated he was intending to address that in the. <br />manner of the deed transfer. <br />Commissioner Lyons stated that the Board didn't want <br />any future problems regarding ingress and egress and <br />Administrator Wright felt that staff can work these things <br />out. <br />The Commissioners requested a clause be inserted in the <br />contract that if the Humane Society is dissolved, the <br />property reverts back to the County free and clear without <br />the provision that it must be used for the shelter of <br />homeless animals. - <br />Considerable discussion took place regarding <br />Commissioner Lyon's concern about the possibility that the <br />Humane Society, which is a non-profit and tax-exempt <br />organization, and also partially subsidized by the County <br />might become an agency that would provide free or cut-rate <br />1. <br />services and thereby compete with free enterprise, such as <br />licensed veterinarians.
