Mr. Zorc recommended the County get a second appraisal. <br />Administrator Wright suggested that staff pursue all <br />possibilities and come back with some recommendations at the <br />August 17th meeting, with the options -of obtaining <br />additional appraisals left open. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Wodtke, <br />the Board unanimously authorized staff <br />to pursue all available options and <br />prices re jail site properties and come <br />back at the August 17, 1983.meeting with <br />some recommendations. <br />DISCUSSION RE OLD HOME TO BE MOVED INTO SCHUMANN PARK FOR <br />RECREATIONAL CENTER <br />Chairman Bird reported that he had received a call from <br />Mrs. Walter Jackson that brought to his attention the fact <br />that there was a piece of County owned property on the east <br />side of U.S. #1 which is called Schumann Park. The property <br />was apparently donated to the County and there are certain <br />deed restrictions that it has to be used for public purposes <br />or open space recreation. <br />Chairman Bird explained that Mrs. Jackson has <br />discovered that there is an old house that apparently is in <br />the way of progress and is going to be sold and moved to <br />another location. She feels that this house would make an <br />excellent place for the Gifford community toetup as a <br />recreational center and meeting place for Boy Scouts and <br />Girl Scouts, and a place on the east side of U.S. #1 where <br />children did not have to cross the highway to get to other <br />facilities on the west side.
