OCT 19 1993 <br />and Commissioner Scurlock hoped that in the future all key <br />employees would be under contract. <br />Commissioner Wodtke felt that he would be more <br />comfortable if Administrator Wright's increase was closer to <br />2.2%, which would amount to an annual salary of $48,000. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />The Motion carried by a 4-1 vote, with <br />Commissioner Wodtke voting in opposition. <br />Liz Forlani, Administrative Aide to the Board of County <br />Commissioners <br />Chairman Bird stated that he has the pleasure of <br />working with Mrs. Forlani on a day-to-day basis in a <br />friendly atmosphere and is confident that the public and <br />staff who come into the office are treated in a very cordial <br />and business -like manner. He explained that she has hired <br />another person to take care of significant additional <br />responsibilities and the increased work load due to the <br />County's growth. He was very pleased with her efforts. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt Mrs. Forlani has done a <br />great job and questioned whether 20 is enough increase. He <br />realized that her department consisting of four employees <br />does not have much flexibility in the 20 increase pool total <br />and suggested that she be placed under the pool of the <br />Administrator's Office. He also realized that- her salary <br />had been brought up into a good range last year. <br />Commissioner Lyons wanted it made clear that while the <br />newspaper article stated that this department has grown to <br />four employees, what Airs. Forlani has actually done is <br />transferred a former function of the Planning & Zoning <br />Department into her office and hired a fourth person to <br />handle the workload. <br />20 <br />
