I <br />Commissioner Wodtke stated that he had discussed this <br />matter earlier with Mrs. Forlani; she has explained that her <br />salary pool was so small that her girls received only a 2% <br />increase, and she would feel uncomfortable in receiving more <br />than her staff. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyon'; <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Scurlock, the ' <br />Board unanimously approved a salary increase <br />of 2% for Administrative Aide, Elizabeth Forlani, <br />retroactive to the beginning of the fiscal year, <br />10/1/83. <br />Gary Brandenburg, County Attorney <br />Commissioner Lyons expressed his admiration of the <br />manner in which Attorney Brandenburg has done his job, as <br />there is a tremendous amount of work coming out of the Legal <br />Dept. Commissioner Lyons was concerned about the extra work <br />load involved in obtaining rights of way for the new water <br />line coming in on SR #60 and suggested the Utility Dept. <br />take on some of this work with a right-of-way expert. He <br />expressed his great satisfaction with Attorney Brandenburg's <br />performance and felt that the County has benefited greatly <br />by having an in-house legal department. He recommended an <br />increase in salary in excess of 20. <br />Commissioner Wodtke was pleased to have the opportunity <br />to work with Attorney Brandenburg and felt that when the <br />time comes that the Attorney feels he needs relief from his <br />workload, he would so indicate. <br />Commissioner Scurlock noted that the Utilities <br />Department is requiring a tremendous amount of the County <br />Attorney's time. Administrator Wright agreed and pointed <br />out that while he has cut back on the number of employees in <br />some areas, the Utilities Dept. really requires another <br />21 <br />OCT 19 1983 <br />
