JAN 41994 BOOK 55 <br />Commissioner Bird asked if Alternative #4 is consistent <br />with the way Indian River Shores is assessing property <br />owners within their jurisdiction and Director Davis <br />explained that Indian River Shores also has a maximum on <br />their assessment, but their formula is different because it <br />has another basis for establishing the actual impact fee. <br />Commissioner Bird felt a little uncomfortable with <br />charging $100 a unit on a condominium that may be worth <br />$75_;000 and a home that might be valued at $250,000 and <br />Commissioner Wodtke realized that there would be some <br />objection to whatever,type of assessment is used, but felt <br />that the real issue is that cars and people use the road and <br />not how many people live in the home or how much the home is <br />worth. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, the Board <br />unanimously approved staff's recommendation <br />of Alternative #4 providing for the assessment <br />of each existing unit and undeveloped land.at a <br />cost of $100 per unit; the County to absorb the <br />remaining cost of the project; and authorized <br />the scheduling of a public hearing to finalize <br />the assessment procedure. <br />AMENDMENT OF ZONING CODE TO ALLOW ACREAGE CREDIT FOR <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY DONATION <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 12/13/83: <br />36 <br />
