He <br />.noted that if this is not rezoned, you would not have all <br />the water problems, all the disposal units, etc., He felt <br />there should be a moratorium on this area and it should go <br />back to the Comprehensive Plan and be changed to lower <br />residential designation - not multiple family. <br />Commissioner Bowman felt that what Mr. Willey probably <br />wants is LD -1 single family at 3 units per acre. She noted <br />that there are five very substantial and expensive houses in <br />this area, and felt we must consider the neighborhood and <br />have some concern for the people who have been there for <br />thirty years. She believed this zoning was a mistake when <br />it was originally established. <br />Margaret "Gussie" Ryall, half owner of the subject <br />property along with Carol Crittenden, informed the Board <br />that they bought this property from B.Q. Waddell in 1969 or <br />1970, and Mr. Waddell had bought it from her grandmother's <br />estate. Her family has been in this area for many <br />generations. In regard to the beautiful homes mentioned by <br />Commissioner Bowman, Miss Ryall presented the Board with a <br />notarized letter from the owners of one of these houses, <br />Raymond and Ruth Cantrelle, which letter states that they <br />have no objection to the upgrading .of the zoning of the <br />subject property to R -2B.
