AUG 2 2 1984 BOOK 58 , � 9z <br />made without involving the Courthouse people, the judiciary, <br />etc. <br />Commissioner Lyons noted that one alternative that has <br />not been mentioned would be adding a floor to the County <br />Administration building. <br />Administrator.Wright believed that space will be needed <br />for growth in that building itself and also felt the other <br />alternatives might be cheaper. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Lyons to withhold a <br />decision on letting of the bids and set the meeting of <br />September 12th to reach a final decision regarding the <br />fourth courtroom. <br />Commissioner Bird believed we need a workshop with all <br />those involved, and Commissioner. Lyons asked if the Board <br />wished this to go through the Jail Committee. <br />Chairman Scurlock felt we have procrastinated too long. <br />He stated that he has already made up his mind that he does <br />not want to spend the money at the Courthouse for another <br />courtroom and believed we need to study the alternatives. <br />Commissioner Wodtke pointed out that originally all the <br />County offices were at the Courthouse until we got the <br />opportunity to acquire the present Administration Building <br />from the Hospital. When we acquired the Hospital building, <br />we also were able to acquire all the land that went with it; <br />so, we presently own land to the north of the Administration <br />Building and possibly we should acquire additional property. <br />Even in our agreement with the School Board, we included an <br />alternative where we could notify them that we can provide <br />space for them elsewhere, and the time may come when the <br />Courthouse might be a good location for them. Commissioner <br />Wodtke stressed that we must look ahead and study the <br />overall picture as we need to make a definitive decision on <br />where we are going, not only with the judiciary system, but <br />the Health Department, etc. He felt the fourth floor is a <br />56 <br />
