APPROVAL OF SIPPEL, MASTELLER, LORENZ AND HOOVER, INC. Baird REFERENCES: A) SML&H Letter 12/12/84 <br />Assistant Utility Director B) MID -FLORIDA TANK REPORT <br />The 150,000 gallon elevated tank located behind Velde Ford is in <br />need of painting and refurbishing. Attached is a proposal in the <br />amount of $2,985.00 from Sippel, Masteller, Lorenz and Hoover, Inc., <br />to provide necessary design, engineering plans, specifications and <br />bid documents to complete the refurbishing. There was $35,000 <br />earmarked from renewal and replacement in the 1984/85 fiscal year <br />budget. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />1. Approve the Engineering proposal from Sippel, Masteller, Lorenz <br />and Hoover, Inc,., in the amount of $2,985.00 to refurbish the <br />elevated storage tank. <br />2. Disapprove the Engineering proposal from Sippel, Masteller, Lorenz <br />and Hoover, Inc., in the amount of $2,985.00 to refurbish the elevated <br />storage tank. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Board of County Commissioners approve Sippel, Masteller, Lorenz <br />and Hoover, Inc., Engineering proposal in the amount of $2,985.00 to <br />refurbish the elevated storage tank. <br />Vice Chairman Scurlock asked why we were not considering <br />other firms and Utility Service Director Terry Pinto explained <br />that it is due to the small size of the contract and also to the <br />fact that Sippel, Masteller has been authorized on a previous <br />contract to revise all of the conglomeration of piping at the <br />base of the water tank. <br />51 <br />BOOK 59 PAGE -6 - <br />AVE 74 <br />
