Chairman Lyons was concerned about the condition of the <br />wooden bridges over canals, and Director Davis advised that the <br />DOT has contracted with a consultant to inspect all the bridges <br />in the County, and we will be receiving their report shortly. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />approved staff's recommendation as outlined in the <br />above memo, and authorized Commissioner Scurlock, <br />the County Administrator and the County Attorney to <br />bring back a proposal re a possible 1-4 cent <br />gas tax to fund the projects. <br />Administrator Wright stated that Attorney Brandenburg has <br />advised that we do not have to.go through a competitive process <br />in obtaining the services of a surveyor on the northerly <br />extension of Indian River Boulevard. Lloyd & Associates is able <br />to do this work more reasonably than other firms because they <br />have done extensive work in that area already. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />approved the Public Director's recommendation to <br />retain Lloyd & Associates at $5,000 a mile, to survey <br />the area along Indian River Boulevard, north of Barber <br />Avenue, and the South Gifford Road project, at a cost <br />not to exceed $15,000. <br />NEW POSITION - RIGHT-OF-WAY AGENT <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 4/30/85: <br />69 <br />MAY 8 1985 �ooK 0 F'k uc 864 J <br />J <br />
