some infill, he did not feel that the Board would be justified in <br />• expanding it beyond the 100 acres. <br />Mr. Carini asked if the Board was aware that the FEC <br />Railroad is proposing an industrial park right in that area, and <br />Commissioner Bird said they had received a letter from them to <br />that effect. <br />Mr. Carini stressed that his property is directly west of <br />that proposed park. <br />Commissioner Scurlock agreed that Mr. Carini would have to <br />wait until expansion occurs and suggested that Mr. Carini put in <br />another request in 6 months. <br />Director Keating noted that Mr. Carini is under an order <br />from the Code Enforcement Board to remove 85-100 junk cars from <br />his property and believed that is one of the reasons he wants the <br />industrial designation. <br />Mr. Carini confirmed that is one of the problems that would <br />be solved by including his property in the node. He pointed out <br />that the cars cannot be seen from the road because of the wooded <br />area. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously closed <br />the Public Hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, that the Board adopt Ordinance <br />85-80, providing for the establishment of boundaries <br />for the South Winter Beach Road industrial node, as <br />recommended by staff in Alternative I as set out in <br />the above memo. <br />Under discussion, Chairman Lyons wished we could have some <br />idea of how the new ordinance will affect the aquifer up there on <br />the sand ridge, and Director Keating advised that they hope to <br />start workshopping the matter in 4 to 6 weeks. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
