TRAD <br />SECRETAFL4GLERCOUNTY <br />The 1985 Florida Legislature enacted.Chapter 85-200, Laws of <br />Florida, which expanded the authority of the Florida Inland <br />WowALCOUNTY R <br />Navigation District (FIND) to a considerable degree. This <br />new Legislation provides the authority for FIND to support <br />TONYWOUNTALSH <br />volusw COUNTY <br />programs $ <br />in the following five areas: <br />W. VINCENT BARBER <br />BREVARD COUNTY <br />g� Local Sponsor, Section 107 Corps of Engineers,Small <br />Navigation Projects. <br />JOE H. EARMAN <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />M.BRENLL <br />b.. Beach renourishment, where dredging of the beach re - <br />MARTIN COUNTY <br />COUNTY <br />nourishment material is a benefit to public navigation in the <br />District. <br />ROBERT L. RYBOVICH <br />PALM BEACH COUNTY <br />STANLEY E. GOODMAN <br />c. Assistance to local governments within the District <br />DAoecouNTY <br />in Planning and carrying out public navigation, public recreation <br />and boating safety projects. <br />STAFF <br />d. Grants for research, study or test programs relating <br />to waterway construction, use, operation or maintenance, or <br />relating to wildlife, wildlife habitat, fisheries, water quality, <br />STERLING K. EISIMINGER <br />GENERAL MANAGER <br />vegetation, erosion, accretion or similar environmental issues <br />and values. <br />NANCY BEERS <br />ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT <br />e. Grants for projects within the District designed to <br />• <br />restore or enhance the environment, including, but not limited <br />to, projects seeking to protect, restore, or enhance wildlife, <br />wildlife habitat, wetlands, fisheries, water quality, acquatic <br />habitat, or other environmental values. <br />The FIND Board of Commissioners desires to inform each of the <br />eleven Boards of County Commissioners in the District of this <br />new legislation and the Board's willingness to receive requests <br />from units of local government for assistance. In this regard, <br />Commissioner Joe H.
