DeBlois REFERENCES: TM#86-443 <br />Staff Planner 9Ab DIS:ARTCHA <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their <br />regular meeting on May 28, 1986. <br />DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS <br />PERMIT APPLICATION NO. 86IPV-20373 <br />APPLICANT: Sebastian Inlet Tax District <br />1900 South Harbor City Boulevard <br />Melbourne, Florida 32901-4748 <br />WATERWAY & LOCATION: <br />The project is located in the Sebastian Inlet from the inlet <br />mouth to the Intracoastal Waterway in Sections 20 and 29, <br />Township 30 South, Range 39 East, Indian River County, Florida. <br />WORK & PURPOSE: The applicant proposes to maintenance dredge <br />52,527 cubic yards of material from 2,187 linear feet of an <br />existing channel to provide project dimensions of 170-290 feet <br />wide by 9.1 feet deep. Dredged material will be placed on a <br />diked upland area adjacent to the Sebastian Inlet. The present <br />location of the channel will remain intact. The type of dredge <br />to be used in this project will be a suction type which will be <br />supported by a floating structure. Dredged material will be <br />pumped to the diked area located approximately 3,500 feet away <br />from the channel. The purpose of the project is safe naviga- <br />tional access for recreational boats entering and leaving the <br />Sebastian Inlet. <br />16 <br />
