� � A <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously authorized <br />staff to transmit a letter to the DER with the <br />recommendations as set out in the above memo. <br />AUTHORIZATION FOR UTILITY DEPT. TO PROCEED_ WITH GRANT APPLICATION <br />TO ADD FLUORIDE TO COUNTY WATER <br />Utilities Director Terry Pinto reported that at a recent <br />workshop, very little public input was received and the only <br />negative comments were from people in Sebastian and Roseland who <br />are not on the County water system. He recommended that the <br />Board authorize staff to proceed in this matter. <br />Commissioner Wodtke commented that quite a few doctors have <br />spoke to him about this issue and they are very much in favor of <br />fluoridating the County water because of the benefits to <br />children's teeth. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the Utility Dept to proceed with the grant application <br />to add fluoridation to the County water system. <br />Commissioner Lyons noted that he attended the meeting and <br />felt that the State presented some rather convincing evidence, <br />and Commissioner Bowman felt that some of the objections from the <br />older people years ago were based on the kind of fluoride <br />compound they were using at that time. <br />CONTINUED DISCUSSION RE EXPANSION OF MEMBERSHIP ON THE PLANNING 6 <br />ZONING COMMISSION <br />The Board reviewed the following memos dated 5/9/86 and <br />5/28/86: <br />21 <br />AY 2 8 1986 <br />BOOK 64 uUE 565 <br />
