Scurlock, Jr.�/ <br />Ch a i rma n <br />Pit s — <br />As to Lessor <br />Attest: <br />Fredb Wrig t, <br />Clerk of C cui�t.�Court <br />� <br />' <br />"LESSOR" <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously <br />approved the lease for the Wabasso Progressive Civic <br />League, Inc. to lease the Douglas School, and <br />authorized the Chairman's signature. <br />AUTHORIZATION TO NEGOTIATE PURCHASE OF HOWELL-CHAPMAN PROPERTY <br />Assistant County Attorney recalled that the Board authorized <br />the condemnation process in order to acquire this piece of <br />beachfront property on north AIA because the owner refused to <br />sell. However, the owner has offered the property for sale for <br />$3.6 million, and the State will contribute at least $2.5 <br />million, which is the amount of the appraisal for condemnation. <br />There are some questions concerning the appraisal with regard to <br />.the amount of beachfront footage. The State survey came up with <br />1380 ft. frontage, but the county's appraisal is for 1.460 ft. He <br />recommended that we submit an offer of $2.5 million as he has <br />58 <br />
