BOOR 67 F,,u 849 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />A pre-bid meeting was held on February 23, 1987 to answer any <br />specific questions on the plans and specifications. <br />Bids were received on March 4, 1987 as follows: <br />Company Base Bid <br />P.A.V.C.O. Concrete <br />Pumping and curbing $16,416.10 <br />Staff Engineer's estimate for this project is approximately <br />$20,134.70. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends waiving the Performance Bond of $1,600.00 and <br />awarding the contract to P.A.V.C.O. (See attached bid proposal) <br />Funds to be appropriated in amount of $14,816.10 to cover the cost <br />of this project. <br />Funding is to be from Petition Paving Account #703-214-541-035.29. <br />Commissioner Eggert questioned why the performance bond <br />should be waived, and Director Davis stated that we do know the <br />quality of this contractor and staff feels confident we do not <br />need the bond; we will not pay him until the curbing is installed <br />and approved. Also, we have had to reduce some of curbing <br />because of requirements of the St. John's River Water Management <br />District, and with the smaller amount, staff feels it is a high <br />price to pay for a performance bond. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously awarded the <br />contract for Ercildoune Heights curbing to P.A.V.C.O. <br />in the amount of $16,416.10 and agreed to waive the <br />performance bond as recommended by staff. <br />(CONTRACT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK) <br />BID ACCEPTANCE - ERCILDOUNE HEIGHTS DRAINAGE STRUCTURES <br />tion: <br />Public Works Director Davis made the following recommenda- <br />72 <br />
