Williams felt this project could be nicely buffered from the <br />surrounding residential area through the site plan process, and <br />pointed out that many of the people in attendance today are not <br />in opposition to the Promenade. He emphasized that there are a <br />large number of senior citizens who are concerned with the <br />economics of this community. Mr. Williams believed that Vero <br />Beach is the result of developers who have the community at <br />heart, and urged the Board to consider the good of the overall <br />community when making their decision. <br />James Neal, 400 18th Street, Oak Park Terrace, wanted to <br />point out that they are concerned with the safety and isolation <br />from commercial areas, and feel they have enough troubl,le now with <br />crime and vandalism in the area. Mr. Neal emphasized that if <br />ll <br />this goes through, Oak Park Terrace will be right next to <br />commercial. He stated that when he bought there two yiears ago, <br />he was surrounded by residential zoning and expected 1t to stay <br />that way.
