IRC 911 Center Construction Engineer <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 4/16/87: <br />TO: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DATE: APRIL 16, 1987 <br />THRU: CHARLES P. BALCZUN <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATO <br />FROM: H.T. "SONNY" DEAN <br />COUNTY REPRESENT I OF SHERIFF'S COMPLEX <br />SUBJECT: INDIAN RIVER COUNTY 911 CENTER <br />,CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER <br />BACKGROUND <br />C. E. Block Architect, Inc., has requested authorization to use <br />Brabham, DeBay and Associates, Inc., of West Palm Beach, as consulting <br />engineers on the subject project for construction administration not <br />to exceed $2,500.00. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Since this is a very technical project and requires specialized <br />supervision, staff agrees with the request. Monies were budgeted for <br />this contract change. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff requests approval by the Board of County Commissioners to amend <br />C. E. Block's contract to allow the construction administration as <br />requested. <br />Commissioner Eggert asked if the additional engineering <br />charges would fall under the total amount for the 911 Center, and <br />Sonny Dean, County Representative of the Sheriff's Complex, <br />stated that he and OMB Director Joe Baird had anticipated this in <br />the budget. <br />Commissioner Eggert asked if the problem of the high costs <br />for the interfacing between the 911 Center and the telephone <br />company have been resolved, and Mr. Dean recalled that there was <br />some discussion a couple of weeks ago, but believed those <br />problems have been resolved. <br />Commissioner Eggert stressed that to date the Board has <br />never seen an entire layout of the 911 project or its budget. <br />Director Baird recalled that about four months ago they <br />included a $374,000 total cost when they came back in with the <br />
