Under discussion, Commissioner Bird expressed hislreliance <br />on staff's expertise to make sure that the prices that * e being <br />charged for this work are competitive, negotiated fees and _ <br />Director Pinto confirmed that these are are well within the <br />limits of any curve. He pointed out that when you loc ik at the <br />project cost of $5.8 million and the design cost of $310,000, you <br />can see that it is well within the 100. When engineering is <br />done, the 10% figure generaily,does not include inspections, <br />which are set aside somewhere else or hidden. _ <br />Commissioner Bird questioned whether staff had ch cked into <br />the legality of placing a wastewater plant at the Hoba t Park <br />location, which is one of the sites under consideratio , because <br />he felt that we need to make sure that land could be used for <br />something other than recreation. <br />Chairman Scurlock felt we had checked that out when we were <br />looking into the matter of effluent disposal on the course at <br />Sandridge Golf Club, but Commissioner Bird wanted to have it <br />thoroughly checked out because this time we would be erecting a <br />waste disposal plant. <br />Director Pinto advised that we need more ground t an what is <br />available at Hobart Park, and they are looking at adjoining <br />pieces of land. Depending on how the entire layout is,arranged, <br />the final decision will be made on exactly what is going to be <br />located on the ground that belongs to the park. At that point, <br />they will check again to see if there is any violation'. <br />Presently they are looking at the Chatham, Graves and ther <br />County -owned property on the sand ridge. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
