County Administ <br />AUTHORIZATION TO ATTEND <br />CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULING <br />SEMINAR AND BUDGETARY <br />APPROVAL FOR SAME <br />It is respectfully requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their meeting of <br />March 1, 1988: <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Federal Publications, Inc. is offering what appears to be an excellent and <br />most comprehensive seminar in the critical path method of construction <br />project management. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Staff has been unable to locate a seminar as encompassing and as extensive <br />as the one offered. In view of past experiences with the construction of <br />the jail phases, it is thought that this is an excellent oportunity to hone <br />existing skills to the keen edge which will be required in the management <br />of this project. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends the Owner's Authorized Representative attend this seminar <br />and funding be accomplished from the Jail, Phase III project budget. <br />Registration Fee $700 <br />Estimated Air Fare to Atlanta 260 <br />Estimated Meals and Lodging 250 <br />Estimated Total $1,210 <br />Staff requests authorization to proceed with necessary budget transaction, <br />registration and reservations. <br />Commissioner Bird wished to know who is going, and the <br />Administrator advised that it would be Assistant Administrator <br />Mattes, who is the owner's authorized representative on a couple <br />of construction projects. <br />Commissioner Eggert commented that she had understood that <br />Mr. Mattes had a great deal of experience in this area and wished <br />to know the need for his attending this seminar. <br />MAR 1 1988 <br />25 <br />BOOK .71 FAG- 2 <br />
