r � r <br />This request was initiated as a result of a rezoning request <br />involving three parcels south of parcel S. That request was <br />approved April 29, 1988. In addition to approving that rezoning <br />request, the Board of County. Commissioners directed staff to <br />initiate the request currently under review. The Board felt that <br />the remaining parcels in this area should be rezoned to <br />commercial to avoid a mixed commercial/residential development <br />pattern from occurring, and to make the zoning for that land <br />under county jurisdiction compatible with the commercial zoning <br />of the 200 ft. strip.of land west between the subject parcels and <br />U.S. 1, which lies within the City of Vero Beach. <br />On June 9, 1988, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted <br />unanimously to recommend approval of <br />this request. <br />ALTERNATIVES & ANALYSIS <br />In this section, an analysis of the <br />reasonableness of the appli- <br />cation will be presented.
