e
r
3. The Board should adopt a resolution providing for per
diem compensation to the Property Appraisal Adjustment Board
members. The amount of such compensation is established by
statute if the Board of County Commissioners and the School
Board of Indian River County elect to allow such
compensation. Since the School Board appoints two members
to the Property Appraisal Adjustment Board, two-fifths of
the expenses of the Board are borne by the school board and
three-fifths by the County Commission. An appropriate
resolution is attached for your approval.
Commissioner Eggert stated that she would volunteer to
serve, and Commissioners Wheeler and Bird also offered to serve.
Property Appraiser Nolte requested that a date be set for
the organizational meeting and suggested that it be held next
Tuesday, August 30th, at 9:00 A.M. There were no objections.
ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com-
missioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0) appointed
Commissioners Eggert, Bird and Wheeler, to serve on
the Property Appraisal Adjustment Board for 1988;
set the petition filing fee at $15.00 per parcel
(except for joint petitions filed pursuant to
S. 194.011 (3e); and adopted Resolution 88-52 pro-
viding for Per Diem Compensation as established by
Statute.
106
