ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously declared the <br />above described structure a nuisance; ordered it to <br />be demolished by the County Road and Bridge Depart- <br />ment; and authorized a lien to be filed for the costs <br />of removal as recommended by staff. <br />DEMOLITION OF UNSAFE STRUCTURE IN DIXIE GARDENS SUBDIVISION <br />The Board reviewed memo from Building Director Rymer: <br />TO: William G. Ke.a.tj g,_ ICO- <br />Director, Community Development Department <br />DATE: November 28, 1988 <br />SUBJECT: Demolition of Unsafe Structure <br />FROM: Ester L. Rymer, Directo <br />Building Division <br />It is requested that the information herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at the next <br />regularly scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION & CONDITIONS: <br />The structure located at 426 6th Avenue, S.W., Dixie Gardens Subdivi- <br />sion (Parcel # 24-33-39-00005-0020-00019.0) has suffered severe fire <br />damage and is considered unsafe as defined in Indian River County <br />Code of Laws and Ordinances, Chapter 4, Article II, Section 4-16. <br />The Building Division has received numerous complaints from the sur- <br />rounding property owners. <br />It is the opinion of the inspector and the Building Official that <br />said structure has been destroyed beyond practical repair and is a <br />public nuisance; therefore the structure has been condemned. Appro- <br />priate condemnation cards have been posted on said structure. <br />Attempts to notify the owner at the address listed with the Property <br />Appraiser's office by certified mail have failed, and the Post Office <br />has no forwarding address. A second address was obtained from City <br />65 <br />DEC 6196 <br />nor 75 ,,,,,E 315 <br />
