Collins <br />Acting. County Administrator <br />SUBJECT: <br />FILE: <br />AWARD OF IRC BID #89116 <br />WOOD WASTE GRINDER <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />FROM: REFERENCES: <br />H. T. "Sonny" Dean, Director <br />General Services <br />1. DESCRIP'T'ION AND CONDITIONS: <br />There were sixteen requests -for bid sent out and on November <br />16, 1988 three were received. <br />All bids received were sent to the Utility Department for <br />review and recommendation. Their comments are attached <br />for your perusal. <br />2. ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS: <br />The low bid was submitted by Fuel Harvesters Equipment, Inc. <br />and met all specifications. <br />3. FUNDING: <br />Funding for this equipment was provided for by the recent Solid <br />Waste Bond Issue. <br />4. ON: <br />Staff recommends that Fuel Harvesters Equipment, Inc. be awarded <br />the bid and authorization be given to issue the Purchase Order. <br />Chairman Scurlock questioned the very large disparity <br />between the low bid of $120,000 and the two others submitted <br />which were $256,000 and $280,000 and asked whether the extra <br />9 <br />DEC 6 1988 <br />Frk.GE260 <br />
