44. <br />al <br />On the other hand, it is proposed that the duties of the Risk <br />Manager are as follows: <br />1. Advise the County Administrator through the Personnel <br />Director about potential risks in t►e planning stage of <br />County projects. The Risk Managgr should be able to <br />analyze the insurance needs and policies of the County; <br />develop and implement methods of controlling risk. <br />2. Develop safety programs for the different departments of <br />the County and effectively teach these procedures to <br />personnel. <br />3. Negotiate with brokers for adequate low cost insurance. <br />4. Administer a self-insurance program. <br />5. Maintain all records relating to County bonds, property <br />and liability insurance. <br />6. Review claims against the County. Work with the County <br />Attorney's Office in the disposition of suits. <br />7. Investigate all accidents and workman's compensation <br />claims involving County employees. File all Notice of <br />Injury forms on Worker's Compensation accidents and all <br />claims forms on property and casualty losses. Analyze <br />liabilities and suggest ways to reduce accidents <br />in the future. <br />8. Knowledge of federal, state, county insurance <br />regulations. Know•about property, casualty and <br />industrial risk management injury and claims practices, <br />and be able to keep up with current trends. <br />9. Understand, analyze and interpret financial and stat- <br />istical data. Create and use cost/benefit information <br />in the decision process. <br />10. The Risk Manager should prepare the Risk Management budget. <br />11. Prepare risk analyses for the Boar4iof County Com- <br />missioners in the form of monthly and yearly Risk Manage- <br />ment Reports. The Risk Manager should be able to <br />create and maintain an insurance procedures manual, <br />safety directive manual and any other risk related manual <br />as required,written in a clear, concise style. <br />12. Make oral presentations to the Board of County <br />Commissioners on all safety and loss control matters. <br />13.
