MAR 1 4 1989 <br />BOOK 76 rA E 388 <br />COUNTY CORRECTIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE REPORT <br />Chairman Wheeler reviewed the following items discussed at <br />the meeting of March 10, 1989: <br />Telephone: (407) 567-8000 <br />March 10, 1989 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />' 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960 • <br />Suncom Telephone: 224-1011 <br />The County Correctional Planning Committee met on March 10, 1989 <br />and the following motions were made: <br />1) STOCKADE/WORK PROGRAM FACILITY <br />Investigate the feasibility of building a separate facility <br />for people sentenced to time in the County Jail, doubling as <br />a drug and alcohol treatment and rehabilitation program. <br />2) DRUG ABUSE TRUST FUND <br />Recommend that thle County Commission adopt the Drug Abuse <br />Trust Fund Ordinance as a pilot project for one year. <br />3) GAINTIME <br />Ask the County Attorney to prepare a draft proposal to allow <br />provisional gaintime only when the jail exceeds capacity. <br />4) COURTHOUSE SECURITY <br />Attorney Vitunac dffered to write a letter to see if any <br />vendor of metal detector scanners would be interested in <br />making a presentation to the County Correctional Advisory <br />Committee to see how such a system could effectively be <br />incorporated into the present courthouse. <br />40 <br />
