Wiegers <br />Staff Planner, Cu rent Development <br />DATE: August 3, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: PLANNING DEPARTMENT'S APPEAL OF A PLANNING AND ZONING <br />COMMISSION DECISION TO APPROVE A PRIVATE STREET <br />DESIGNATION FOR SAINT EDWARDS UPPER SCHOOL <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at its regular <br />meeting of August 15, 1989. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />At its regular meeting of July 13, 1989, the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission voted 4 - 2 to overturn the Planning Director's deci- <br />sion to deny Saint Edwards Upper School's request to designate its <br />entrance road as a private drive and to name it "Saint Edwards <br />Drive". Subsequently, the County Planning Department, with <br />support from the Vero Beach Postmaster and the County's Emergency <br />Services Coordinator, filed a written appeal of this approval to <br />the Board of County Commissioners. It should be noted that in <br />considering St., Edward's request, the Planning and Zoning Commis- <br />sion did not have input from either the Postmaster or the Emergen- <br />cy Services Coordinator. <br />11 <br />
