BOOK l 1 P,. �E 3' <br />Commissioner Bowman commented that she had some problems <br />with this, and Commissioner Scurlock felt we all have some <br />concern and believed we have not been heavily involved in this <br />project but have more or less followed the City's lead. He noted <br />that he now has gotten some staff input and some from the commun- <br />ity, and they seem to be favoring Alternate #2. What has been <br />expressed is that #2 is the more sound alternative <br />environmentally; that it appears to be more cost effective; and <br />from a transportation standpoint, there seems to be more <br />capacity. <br />Public Works Director Davis advised that not all the traffic <br />operations design has been considered. What the DOT commissioned <br />their consultant to do was perform a feasibility study and <br />recommend alternative alignments, and those alignments have been <br />investigated in terms of environmental impacts and impact on <br />surrounding properties. Traffic operations has been very <br />generally addressed; it has not been specifically addressed in <br />terms of intersection design, number of lanes, etc. One concern <br />with the bridge keying in north of the present bridge alignment <br />38 <br />M <br />
