Attorney Vitunac noted that this is the culmination of many <br />months of hard negotiations with the Town of Orchid. The Town may <br />have its construction of the.system performed by a community <br />development district or by itself. They haven't decided that as <br />yet, but they will build the system to the County's specs, turn it <br />over to the county lock, stock and barrel, and we will own it and <br />run it for 40 years. It is ready for adoption today. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt this is probably as much control <br />E a <br />as we can get over future growth in the Town, because if you don't <br />have water and sewer, it is very difficult to move ahead. He felt <br />Attorney Vitunac and Utilities Director Terry Pinto took a very <br />aggressive role in these negotiations, and commended them for <br />their efforts. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />the interlocal agreement with the Town of Orchid, as <br />set out in the above staff recommendation, and <br />authorized the Chairman's signature. <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE -'OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />AMENDMENT TO PURCHASE AGREEMENT - McKEE JUNGLE GARDENS <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 9/7/89: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Charles P. Vitunac, County Attorney <br />DATE: September 7, 1989 <br />RE: CONTRACT - McKEE JUNGLE GARDENS <br />At the direction of the Board at the August 22, 1989, <br />meeting, the Board ratified the contract entered into <br />between Vista Properties, Inc. and James Chandler, but added ` <br />one amendment concerning access to the wetlands parcels.. <br />The attached exhibit will satisfy the Board's concerns <br />concerning the access and staff recommends that this page be <br />substituted for the one ratified by the Board.
