,JAN <br />���� <br />F00(S <br />F PAGE <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt that <br />in the future we <br />should <br />have <br />better coordination between what is being donated, who is doing <br />the donating, and why it is being donated, because it is very <br />difficult as a Commissioner to get who said what and when. <br />Commissioner Bowman preferred to think that someone said <br />that water and sewer would be available rather than think that <br />someone said that water and sewer would be given to them. <br />There being no others who wished to be heard, Chairman <br />Eggert closed the Public Hearing. <br />Commissioner Bird felt we could work together in this new <br />decade to scrutinize our philosophy in having growth pay for <br />itself to make sure that we are not killing the golden goose by <br />getting it too heavy. The other thing he felt we need to do is <br />try to get ourselves in a position with our Utilities Dept., the <br />transportation impact fees, the transportion fund, etc. where <br />hopefully in the future we put up a certain portion of these <br />projects up front and then recoup those monies, perhaps even with <br />interest, as the projects come on line and as they develop. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt the Finance Advisory Committee <br />could analyze that alternative and others and bring some <br />recommendations back to the Board. <br />Commissioner Bowman was very happy to see that we are going <br />to protect the wetlands, because those wetlands are very, very <br />important as a filtration system to help keep the lagoon clean. <br />24 <br />M <br />
