� ` 990 BOOK �� rt9ur. <br />Planner Mark Crosley wished to make an addition to the <br />following Policy: <br />POLICY 5.2: In the Coastal High -Hazard Zone, the county shall <br />not subsidize public facilities which are not directly related to <br />public access or resource management. <br />Planner Crosley wished to add "and shall adopt Objective 2 <br />and its associated policies of the Capital Improvements. This <br />would be a cross reference to clarify things a little better. <br />OBJECTIVE 6 REDUCTION OF HURRICANE EVACUATION TIMES TO REDUCE <br />By 1995, Indian River County will have reduced estimated evacu- <br />ation time for a category 3 storm event to 12 hours or less. <br />Commissioner Bird noted that Policy 6.7 states that "the <br />County shall not permit increased zoning densities in the <br />Hurricane Vulnerability Zone," and he wished to know where the <br />map of this zone is located. <br />Director Keating advised that the Hurricane Vulnerability <br />Zone extends from the Atlantic Ocean over to U.S.1, and further <br />noted that we just are not going to increase the densities that <br />are already there. <br />OBJECTIVE 7 POST -DISASTER REDEVELOPMENT <br />By 1993, the county will have a post -disaster recovery and <br />re -development plan which minimizes or eliminates the future risk <br />to human life and public and private property from natural <br />disasters. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 8 BEACH ACCESS <br />Environmentally safe public access will be provided to Indian <br />River County beaches and shorelines. The county shall have no <br />net loss of existing public access facilities. - NO COMMENT <br />OBJECTIVE 9 HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />The county will provide for the preservation and protection of <br />historically and archaeologically significant sites and <br />structures. - NO COMMENT <br />136 <br />
