MAR 2 71990 <br />BOOK <br />Bid 90-49 - Uniforms <br />The Board reviewed memo from Purchasing Manager Mascola: <br />1 MARCH 15, 1990 <br />TO: HONORABLE BOARD OF COUN'T'Y COMMISSIONERS <br />TM: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />H.T. "SONNY" DEAN, DIRW <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL <br />LSERVI <br />Elm: DOMINICK L. MASCOLA, MANAGER <br />DIVISION OF PURCHASING <br />SUBJECT: UNIFORMS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BID #90-49 <br />On request from the Emergency Management Service Division the subject bid was <br />properly advertised and Eight (8) invitations to bid were sent out. On <br />November 29, 1989 bids were received with Two (2) vendors submitting proposals <br />for the commodity. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />Staff has reviewed the submittals to ascertain adherence to specifications. <br />Martin Lamar was the low bidder in Group 1-4-5-6 and was the low responsive <br />bidder,;Ln Group 3 to meet specifications. R & R was the low bidder in <br />Group 2. To ensure continuity of uniform styles, colors, etc. versus order- <br />ing'just Group II (Trousers) from R & R Uniforms. To award the entire bid <br />to Martin Lamar Uniforms. (Attached Memo). <br />FUNDING: <br />Monies for this project will cane fran Emergency Management Service Account <br />(Attached Memo). <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Staff recam ends the award of a one year OPEN END CONTRACT to Martin Lamar <br />Uniforms with an estimated value of $54,632.00. Also, authorize Purchasing <br />to renew the contract for one additional year subject to satisfactory per- <br />formance, zero cost increase, vendor acceptance and determination that <br />renewal is in the best interest of the County. The initial contract period <br />shall begin on the date of award. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously awarded Bid <br />90-49 for uniforms to Martin Lamar Uniforms in the <br />estimated value of $54,632; approved a one year open <br />end contract with same; and authorized renewal of the <br />contract for one additional year, subject to satisfactory <br />performance, all as recommended by staff per the follow- <br />ing Bid Tabulation: <br />14 <br />� s � <br />
