Davis, P.E., C� <br />Public Works Director 0 <br />SUBJECT: Geotechnical (soils) Consultant for <br />Oslo Road -Improvements <br />DATE: April 9, 1990 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Professional services are required for a subsurface soils <br />investigation along Oslo Road from US 1 to 500 feet west of <br />Old Dixie Highway. This investigation is requested by the <br />design engineer, Kimley-Horn and Assoc. so that a proper <br />pavement cross-section can be designed. <br />Staff has requested proposals from three geotechnic firms as <br />follows: <br />Universal Engineering Services, Orlando $ 5,671 <br />Fraser Engineering and Testing, Ft. Pierce, 5,085 <br />Jammal and Associates, Inc., West Palm Bch, 4,253 <br />Due to the quality of the evaluation report that Jammal <br />Engineering submits, the design engineer, Jim Young, P.E., <br />of Kimley-Horn Associates, Inc. recommends that the County <br />contract with Jammal to perform the work at the low bid of <br />$4,253. <br />26 <br />
