JUN 5 1990 <br />BOOK 80 PAGE 241 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 90-70, confirming the assessment roll for <br />certain paving and drainage improvements to 12th Avenue <br />between 12th Street and 14th Street in Rivenbark <br />Subdivision; the.assessment to reflect the modification <br />of $2500 being assessed to the City of Vero Beach and <br />the remainder of the City's portion of the assessment <br />being picked up by the County, identifying that it is <br />unique and special in that it is a cemetery in the <br />city, and that this is not to be interpreted as a <br />precedent. <br />ASSESSMENT ROLL IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE <br />15th Place east of U.S. #1 to 7th Avenue <br />Michelle Gentile of Engineering explained that County staff <br />has looked at the design of this particular road which was <br />designed by Coastal Technology, as there is about 250 feet of <br />existing pavement on 15th Place that the engineer wanted to <br />reconstruct. The original assessment included property owners <br />from U.S. #1 to a portion of 7th Avenue, but after reviewing <br />this, staff feels that any reconstruction or resurfacing should <br />not fall under this special assessment since some of the property <br />owners would not benefit. Staff has revised the assessment <br />eliminating some of the frontage and some of the property owners, <br />and that is reflected in the confirming resolution which is <br />proposed today. <br />Commissioner Bowman asked about the large oak tree in that <br />location, and Mrs. Gentile explained that the engineers have <br />designed the roadway to go around the big oak tree .
