UW89-09-WEST-DS <br />BACKGROUND <br />Construction of the water main extension to serve 9th Avenue <br />`. residents was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on <br />May 15, 1990. This item is for approval of a change order to an <br />existing similar construction contract to perform the work. _ <br />ANALYSIS <br />,;.,Due primarily to some 9th Avenue -residents' wells becoming unusable <br />as potable water, it is necessary to expedite construction of the <br />.water line extension. This can be accomplished b a change order to <br />:'the existing contract to construct a water line in the Summerplace <br />,..:(west) Subdivision at a cost of $11,700.00. <br />::.The 9th Avenue work is similar in nature and will be performed for <br />the same unit prices as the existing contract. Construction cost is <br />within the amount approved by the Board of County Commissioners on <br />May 15, 1990. Funds will come from Account No. 472-000-169-087.00. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the change order to the <br />existing referenced Summerplace contract for extension of the water <br />main on 9th Avenue. <br />28 <br />s � r <br />
