October 1985 <br />Indian River County Public Works Department <br />conducted an Economic Feasibility Study on -the <br />cost to implement, 1) the Twin Pairs Alignment, 2) <br />to widen the existing CR 512 roadway, and 3) to <br />construct a new four lane road in the railroad <br />right-of-way. A presentation was made to the <br />North County Businessman's Associations monthly <br />luncheon meeting by James W. Davis. <br />September 1986 <br />County Staff sent letters to property owners <br />fronting the existing CR 512 roadway asking their <br />opinion on the feasibility of exchanging fronting <br />portions of the County owned railroad right-of-way <br />for additional right-of-way along the property <br />owners CR 512 frontage. Most property owners <br />objected to exchanging land with the County. <br />March 1987 <br />Staff recommended to the Transportation Planning <br />Committee that a consultant be retained to study <br />the three options of widening CR 512. The Board <br />of County Commissioners approved this study and <br />appointed Mayor Harris of Sebastian on the <br />Consultant Selection Committee. <br />September 27, 1988 <br />._ County Staff transmitted a copy of Consultant's <br />Study to City Manager Rob McClary. <br />December 5, 1988 <br />Public Works Director attended City of Sebastian <br />City Council meeting to discuss and receive input <br />on CR 512 Corridor and Thoroughfare Plan. <br />December 28, 1988 <br />Staff transmitted comments received at the <br />Sebastian City Council Meeting to consultant for <br />incorporation into the project. <br />February, 1989 <br />City ­ Manager McClary transmitted to the County, <br />City of Sebastian Resolution R-88-77 approving the, <br />CR 512 Traffic Study. <br />November 1, 1989 <br />Status Report sent to City Manager Robert McClary. <br />February 9, 1990 <br />Letters received from City of Sebastian Staff <br />regarding new railroad crossing for CR 512 Twin <br />Pairs Alignment. <br />June 5, 1990 <br />The Board of County Commissioners instructed staff <br />to continue negotiations with the F.E.C.
