they identified where the hammock was and tried to keep all the <br />parking out of the hammock area. <br />Bradley Smith emphasized that they share Commissioner <br />Bowman's concerns about environmental impact. They realized all <br />three ecosystems on site are threatened and decided at all costs <br />to preserve the existing hammock. They, of course, did have to <br />provide some public access to the site, but they have tried to <br />mitigate the impacts as much as possible. This is a resource <br />based park, and we certainly don't want to destroy the resource <br />in the process of developing the park. <br />Commissioner Bowman was sure they have made these efforts <br />but hoped we could do more, and she would like to meet with Mr. <br />Smith and go over this. <br />Commissioner Bird believed that Commissioner Bowman will be <br />pleased with the amount of research done on this. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION to approve <br />the Preliminary Site Plan. <br />It was voted on and carried 4 to 1 with Commis- <br />sioner Bowman voting in opposition. <br />PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERV.
