JAN -9 1991 <br />BOOK 82 F,gGE 552 <br />that if they are apprehended by a Sheriff's Deputy then it is <br />within..the Sheriff's purview. <br />Attorney Vitunac further clarified that if the Sheriff catches <br />someone dumping on our land, we are involved. If it is on land <br />belonging to someone else, we are not involved. <br />Commissioner Wheeler felt it is illegal no matter whose land <br />it is, and he felt we should do anything we can to encourage <br />prosecution and discourage this dumping. <br />Commissioner Scurlock noted that the person who had called him <br />caught someone dumping illegally and was extremely upset that they <br />weren't prosecuted and fined.
